Our Story

SunVolt was founded in 2009 by a team of power systems engineers who believed that energy waste is not an inevitable cost of doing business — it is a data problem waiting to be solved.

Starting from a small R&D lab in Milan, we developed our first three-phase smart energy meter in 2011. By 2015, our metering portfolio had expanded to include submetering systems, power factor correction units and our first cloud-based EMS platform. Today, SunVolt equipment monitors over 2.4 TWh of energy annually across 18,000+ installations in 48 countries.

Our mission remains unchanged: deliver the most accurate, interoperable and scalable energy monitoring hardware and software in the market — backed by engineering support that treats every project as our own.

IEC 62053 & MID

Energy meters tested to IEC 62053-21/22 accuracy standards. MID (Measuring Instruments Directive 2014/32/EU) certified for legal-for-trade billing in Europe.

CE Marking (LVD)

All products comply with Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU and EMC Directive 2014/30/EU for deployment across the European Economic Area.

UL Listed

Select meter and gateway models UL Listed for the North American market per UL 61010-1 standard for safety of electrical equipment for measurement.

RoHS Compliant

All SunVolt products comply with RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU, restricting hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.
